The current study aims to identify the way citizen journalism addresses community issues along with monitoring the attitudes of the Egyptian public both toward the issues and topics published in citizen journalism and toward the citizen journalism itself. Besides, the study aims to identify the nature of the frames employed by citizen journalism in addressing and covering community issues. An analytical study was conducted by the researcher on a citizen journalism sample (Al- Masry Al- Youm Sharek Gate, Al-Youm Assabie citizen journalism, The Vito Gate citizen journalism) in the period from 1/3/2018 until 30/4/2018. A field study was also conducted on a purposive sample of the Egyptian public concerned with citizen journalism from three governorates (Cairo, Ad- Daqahlia, and Damietta). The researcher used the sample survey methodology and the questionnaire and content analysis as two tools for data collection. Among the most important results of the study are the following; 1- Concerning the community issues and topics raised in citizen journalism, the (Sewage Problems issue) came in the forefront followed by the (environmental issues), then the (water issues) in the third-place, the (Roads and transportation problems) issues forth by (8.9%), the political issues fifth), then the issues of (Internet risks, demonstrations and protests, addiction, drug use, immigration, the spread of divorce, and unemployment) came respectively in late ranks. 2- Concerning the Egyptian public (the study sample) attendance for citizen journalism, It turns out that more than half of the total sample attend citizen journalism (sometimes), followed attend it (always), and finally attend it (rarely), The results indicated that (Al-Youm Assabie citizen journalism) ranked first, followed by (Al- Masry Al- Youm Sharek Gate) second, (The Vito Gate citizen journalism) third, (Al-Moaten newspaper) forth, and (Global Voice) fifth by the ratio of (11.1%). In the late ranks came (Sahifat ’Ahlaan Al-Earabia) and (Havet Post). 3- The study indicated that the community issues were most attended by the Egyptian public (the study sample) in citizen journalism where the issue of (high prices) came first by the ratio of (57.1%). 4- The study showed the validity of the hypothesis that ” There is a statistically significant correlation between the aims of the Egyptian public dependence on citizen journalism for information and news and the effects resulted from that dependence”.
