Background: Nowadays, by growing fast changes, managers looking for ways to increase the nurses’ job satisfaction to achieve a competitive advantage. Human factor is the most important capital in any organization. Human factor maintenance has wider dimensions than wage, welfare and safety actions in hospital which consists of preventive and therapeutic maintenance dimension. Aim: To explore the relationship between human factor maintenance on nurses‘jobsatisfaction.Design:Descriptive correlational research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at El-Salam International hospital. Sample: All available nursing personnel who are working in the hospital and have at least two years of experience in the present workplace (N=101).Tools: Human Factor Maintenance for Nurses Questionnaire and Job satisfaction scale for nurses were used in this study. Results: The study indicated that nursing personnel’s perceptions about human factor maintenance dimensions was the highest in therapeutic maintenance dimension and was the lowest in preventive maintainence dimension. While, regarding job satisfaction dimensions it was the highest in organizational policy dimension and the lowest in staffing plan dimension. Finally, it was moderate level about human factor maintenance and job satisfaction. Conclusion: There was a positive significant relationship between human factor maintenance and nurses‘ job satisfaction. Recommendation: Hospital management should conduct regular meetings IX with nursing personnel to discuss their needs and problems. Involve human factor maintenance in nursing curriculum. Further studies about applying human factor maintenance system in different settings. |
