Abstract

The main goal of this study to estimate genetic differences of samples of European Sea bass from three different locations (Red Sea, Mediterranean and Suez Canal). A total of 64 samples have been collected with average weight ranged from 250-300 gm. Morphometric characters such as fish weight, body length, tail length and others were measured. from the samples of each location, The DNA extracted individually using QIAGEIEN kit. Many biotechnology techniques have used [DNA barcoding targeted the COI gene, Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR-RFLP), Sodium Dodecyl SulfatePolyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs)] to distinguish the genetic variants among the locations under investigation. The results revealed that there were strong similarities between the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea samples have been noticed which might be caused by the proximity of the marine environment of the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea in terms of the water-characteristics (i.e. temperature and salinity). Moreover, The Suez Canal samples were distinct from those of the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea could be correlated to the pollutions that found in the Suez Canal as a result of its continuous navigation and oil waste of passing ships. In addition, the comparative study between sea bream and Sea bass that from Suez Canal have achieved. Therefore, the European Sea bass fish considered as a good source for animal protein from fish are in adaptation of various environments started from Suez Canal as a linkage line of both the read and Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, according the genetic and morphometric study, we in need for a conservation plan to preserve these species regard as a good survival, diseases resistant, and its adaptations for a wide range of environmental changes.
