Abstract
This case control study was conducted in Cardiology Department - Suez Canal University Hospital and included 150 participants that were divided into 3 groups: group A which included subjects with HFrEF and developed significant pulmonary hypertension; group B which included patients with HFrEF but without pulmonary hypertension; and group C which included normal subjects.
HF has primarily been recognized as a disease of the elderly population (> 60 years) and it affects males more than females (Inamdar A, et al., 2016).
Patients with HFrEF with PH and patients with HFrEF were older in age than controls with average age around 60 years old and they were more likely to be males than general population.
