Abstract

For increasing fungal lipase activity and stability to be used several times for the purpose of reducing cost of industrial applications catalyzed by it “mainly, production of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME)”, Different concentrations of immobilized lipase (L) were synthesized using sodium titanate nanotubes (TNT) – prepared by simple hydrothermal method- as support for the first time with different TNT-L w/w ratios. Immobilization has been confirmed using HRTEM, FT-IR and XRD. Immobilized lipases were investigated for production of FAME in comparison with pure titnate nanotubes & free lipase as separate catalysts at 40o C for 90 min. More yield of FAME was achieved using TNT-L nanocomposites even at low concentrations of lipase compared to free lipase. Immobilized lipase showed up reusability for 10 successive cycles keeping most of its activity that ensures capability of its use for variety of applications including production of FAME.
