Abstract Introduction: Pain is a very distressful unpleasant condition to human, it sometimes affect patients’ daily activities, ordinary life and work. Most of analgesic drugs used are short lasting, so a lot of money is being spent on treatment of pain. Pain from Sacroiliac Joint represents about 10-27% of 1ry source of pain in the population. The Aim of this study: The aim of the study was to compare between the effect of Calcitonin and Platelet Rich Plasma injection regarding sacroiliac joint pain management. Materials and methods: 68 patients were randomly specified into two groups (34 patients in each group) using computer based randomization method and closed envelope technique to the injected drug. Patients were divided randomly into 2 groups. Results: from the study we concluded that both calcitonin and PRP injection seemed to have significant reduction in sacroiliac joint pain ; however PRP had more significant action in terms of VAS and ODI scores with no significant difference in complications. Summary and conclusion: Recently there has been widespread use of injections guided by ultrasound especially in the treatment of chronic pain. In addition to being a diagnostic method, it spares time and avoids the exposure to radiation. Platelet rich plasma is used in various medical fields and is a good natural source with few side effects, very cheap and natural source of platelet growth factors and stimulates the natural healing process of the body.
