The thesis consists of five chapters, in addition to an introduction, conclusion, appendices & bibliography. The first chapter entitled ” the Revolutions of the Egyptians in the age of the emperor Diocletian 284- 305 AD’. The chapter includes three items, first, the social & economic conditions in Egypt within the byzantine age that pushed Egyptians to revolt, second, the Revolution of Coptos & Boresis in Thebes 291 AD. Third, the revolution of Lucius Domitius Domitianus in Alexandria 297 AD. The second chapter entitled ”the religious revolutions of the Egyptians against the imperial authority after the council of Nicea 328- 365 AD. It treats five revolutions & political movements commanded by Pope Athanasius 328- 373 AD. First, the movement of February 335 AD, second the revolution of 18 March 339 AD, third, the revolution of 24 December 361 AD, fourth, the movement of October 362 AD, fifth, the revolution of 5 may 365 AD. The third chapter entitled ’ the religious revolutions of the Egyptians against the imperial authority after the council of Chalcedon 451 AD until the Arab conquest 641 AD”. It includes six items, first the revolution of 451 AD, second, the revolution of 500 AD, third , the revolution of 508 AD, fourth, the revolution of 516 AD, fifth the revolution of Gaianites in May 536 AD , sixth, the revolution of 537 AD.The fourth chapter entitled ” the Revolutions of the Egyptians in the age of the emperor Maurice 582- 602 AD” , includes two items, first , the rebel of Aristomachos , second , the Revolution of the three Brothers. The fifth chapter entitled ” the Revolutions of the Egyptians in the end of the byzantine age 602-641 AD”, includes four items, first, the Revolution of five towns in the Delta , second, the Revolution of Egyptians against the emperor Phocas 609/610 AD, third, the white Revolution 631-641 AD, fourth the patriotism in Egypt during the byzantine age.
