Abstract Many developed countries have significantly lowered trauma mortality rates by the performance of trauma systems that address all aspects of care. The trauma registry is a key driver of improvements in trauma system because the absence of trauma care information systems remains a challenge to trauma system development (59). Trauma registry provides the mechanism to collect comprehensive, timely and accurate data and evaluates trauma care system, which includes injury control and epidemiology, patient care and quality improvement, resource utilization, and medical research education on the local, province, and national level (60). The present study was designed as a pre-post interventional study that included records of patients with history of trauma who presented at the Emergency Department at Suez Canal University Hospitals. 126 patients were evaluated using the old standard form while the other 126 patients were evaluated using the new standardized trauma registry form. |
