Abstract

Sore throat is a common complaint especially in winter and spring
among patients of different ages.
group A beta-hemolytic Streptococcus (GABHS) is a very
common bacterial etiology, also Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella
pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aureginosa and Escherichia coli are found
to be among bacterial causes for sore throat.
Careless and overuse of antibiotics often result in a condition
where the body becomes more susceptible to diseases and then
treatment becomes complicated as the organisms build up immunity
against the antibiotic drugs that are administered more often than
required.
