Abstract
The present study was designed to investigate the adverse effects of moxifloxacin, the protective effect of Vit.E and the result of combination between moxifloxacin and Vit.E on hepatic and renal functions.
Experimental design:
After one week of accommodation 80 albino rats randomly allocated into 4 equal groups, each of 20 rats.
The 1st group:
Rats in this group were not medicated and left as control and received distilled water.
The 2nd group:
Rats in this group given repeated oral doses of moxifloxacin (7.2 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
The 3rd group:
Rats in this group given repeated oral doses of Vit. E (18 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
The 4th group:
Rats in this group received a combination of Vit. E (18 mg/kg b.wt) once daily with moxifloxacin (7.2 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
