Abstract

This study is based on using GNSS System for detecting such response level of the ground shaking and studying its effect on the ground surface motion as a result of natural disasters such as earthquakes. This research aims to monitor the movements of the network stations on the earth’s crust and obtain their positional displacements with adequate accuracy on a specific time domain. Ground movement occurs as a result of the earthquake shaking or any natural disaster. The objective of this study is to build an accurate database of the precise positions and displacements for points affected by the earthquake shaking. The data collected using the GNSS system will be used for helping researchers to create a predictive system of the natural disaster especially earthquakes which may help in saving lives and property.
