The swing check valve (SCV) is a type of check valves or non-return valves that allows the fluid to flow in one direction only. The main goal of the present research is devoted to enhance the SCV performance by accelerating the SCV closure, hence reducing the amount of reversed flow through the valve, before it is fully closed. This will be carried out only by modifying the design of the SCV itself, without using any external devices like springs or external attached masses.
