Abstract

Exact information must be obtained preoperative regarding the location, size, morphology of the aneurysm as well as property of the aneurysmal wall, relationship with the parent vessel and adjacent branches, vessel incorporation, presence of calcification and/or thrombus. Perianeurysmal information such as associated vasospasm, vascular variants, presence of vascular malformations and the relationship of the aneurysm to the bony skull base are also crucial for proper selection of treatment method. Conventional techniques for imaging the intracranial arteries are CTA, MRA, and DSA. These techniques reveal abnormalities of the vessel lumen, but they can fail to fully characterize disease that resides within the vessel wall. Recently, enhanced high resolution vessel wall imaging MRI (HR VWI MR) has been used to assess intracranial arterial disease and IAs. from March 2017 to December 2019 we studied 3 groups of patients, the first group included 146 patients suspecting having intracranial aneurysm the second group : included 44 patients with surgically treated aneurysms and third group included 20 patients underwent HRVWI MR of the circle of Willis Prospective analysis of CTA as well as MR images of all patients by two independent reviewers .
