Abstract Designing Web Based Learning Module about Safe Injection Practices for Community Health Nursing Students Background: Web based learning module is an effective method for delivering educational content. So, to improve nursing students’ knowledge, attitude, and practice towards safe injection practices; it was an urgent to introduce them safe injection module. Aim: Design web-based learning module about safe injection practices for community health nursing students. Methods: Mixed method design: cross-sectional design and Delphi method was utilized to accomplish this study. This study was carried out at community health nursing department, Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University. Purposive sampling technique of students, Delphi panel and professional experts was used in the study. Eight tools were used in this study for data collection. Results: The needlestick injuries were prevalent among more than half of the studied nursing students. The majority of them had poor knowledge and improper practice regarding safe injection practices. Professional experts and nursing students accepted the designed module. They were satisfied with the module content, usability and presentation methods. Conclusion: The rate of NSIs among nursing students was relatively high as well as high rate of under-reporting with poor score level of knowledge and improper practices regarding safe injection. The students are ready to adopt web-based learning and recognize its uses in nursing education. Recommendation: evaluate the impact of web-based learning module as learning method to enhance students’ knowledge and practice regarding safe injection in clinical setting. |
