Abstract

The second leading cause of death worldwide is Cancer. It is basically environmental disease with 90-95% cases occurring because of inappropriate lifestyle and introduction of harmful environmental factors like pollution, chemical dyes etc. and only 5-10% of cancers are inherited. And therefore cancer is generally acknowledged as a preventable malady. It results from the transformation of normal cells into tumor cells in a multistage process that largely progresses from a pre-cancerous lesion to a malignant tumor.
Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (Ehrlich cells, EAC), a spontaneous murine mammary adenocarcinoma is a well-established model in tumor biology. EAC model has generally been utilized to examine tumor pathogenesis and development of anti-tumorigenic agents.
