Abstract This present study aimed to measure the serum levels of IL-37 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to investigate its role in SLE, including its correlation with disease activity. It was a case-control study conducted in Beni-Suef University Hospital at outpatient and inpatient Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Department. The study included 50 clinically diagnosed SLE patients and(25) healthy adults served as a control group. All the seventy individuals included in the study was subjected to a written informed consent for participation in the study, detailed history taking, clinical assessment and Rheumatologic examination. Detection of IL37 level was done by ELISA technique. The collected data were coded then entered and analyzed taking three months using the SPSS version 22. The study revealed that the average age of patients with SLE was 27.48 ±9.6 (SD) years. Sex distribution of studied population; of the studied SLE cases; 88% of them were females and 12% were males. The serum levels of il-37 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was higher as compared to normal control persons; however the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant where the p-value >0.05. |
