Abstract

This thesis works toward the synthesis of an eco-friendly (SnO2 /MCM-41) Tin oxide–Silica catalyst and structural characterization, adsorption and catalytic activity analysis of MCM-41, SnO2/MCM-41, wt. % /SnO2/MCM-41, and wt. % SA/SnO2/MCM-41. 1. Preparation of MCM-41, SnO2/MCM-41, wt. % /SnO2/MCM-41, and wt. %SA/ SnO2/MCM-41 SnO2/MCM-41was prepared using sol gel method synthesis from a homogenous solution of calcinated MCM-41, ammonia hydroxide solution (NH4OH) 33%, tin chloride (SnCl4.5H2O), and 3M (orthophosphoric acid), Sulfamic acid, and water. SnO2 /MCM-41 was modified by impregnating suitable weights of ortho phosphoric and sulfamic acids. 2. Structural characterization of MCM-41, SnO2/MCM-41, wt. % /SnO2/MCM-41 Structural characterization of the samples has been done by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal analysis, TEM, XPS and SEM techniques. 3. Applications of MCM-41, SnO2/MCM-41, wt. % /SnO2/MCM-41, and wt. %SA/ SnO2 /MCM-41 We followed a chemical catalytic reaction: synthesis of 14- phenyl -14H-dibenzo [a,j] xanthene compounds. Adsorption studies were followed with 0.05g for MCM-41, SnO2/MCM-41, wt. % /SnO2/MCM-41, and wt. %SA/SnO2/MCM-41 samples in 50 mL of cationic dyes; brilliant green(BG) and methyllen blue (MB) dyes with initial concentration 100 mg/L were shaked for 2 hrs.
