Abstract

Intra abdominal abscesses have wide range incidence between other abdominal pathologies , hence it had been always a topic of interest for many reserch centers as regard its wide variety of methods for management . No definite protocol can be advised towards those cases , but in a little details about each case presentation we can determine which method of management is favorable than others .
Outcome of non operative management have little relation to some predictive factors as DM , culture of aspirate , number of lesions , associated GIT pathology , size and aetiology of the abscess . So , to be honest , you won’t lose your patient in situation to determine the accurate method because you always have the possibilty to turn on to the other way anytime but you hope all the time to be less invasive , less harmefull and more effective in treating the pathology .
from this point of view , better assesment of your case of intra abdominal abscess aim to programme your strategy in management .
Diabetic patients with positive culture of aspirate and low grade fever or normo-thermic who have an intra abdominal abscesses, are treated better with non operative management and respond to it in an adequate matter.
