Abstract Integrated litho-and bio-stratigraphic data of two well-exposed Upper Cretaceous-lower Paleogene successions, namely, the Owiena and Abu Minqar sections (Dakhla Oasis, Western Desert, Egypt), led to an enhancement of the geological age resolution and shed lights on the evolution of the sedimentary basin. Also, the paleoenvironmental conditions of the Upper Cretaceous-lower Paleogene sequence are discussed. Moreover, the stratigraphic data of two equivalent stratigraphic (North Gunna and El Aqabaat) sections at Farafra Oasis toward the North of Abu Minqar area which were studied by Faris et al., (2018) are here used to make a comparative. |
