Abstract

Lung cancer is one of the most serious diseases causing death for human beings. Quality of life of lung cancer patients is affected by several factors related to the patient, disease and treatment. The aim of this study: was to evaluate rehabilitative intervention among lung cancer patients regarding quality of life in Benha City. Research design: A quasi experimental design was utilized in carrying out this study. Setting: This study was conducted in Outpatient Chest Clinics in Benha University Hospital Benha city & National Oncology Center in Shebin El Kom, Menoufia city. The sample: Convenient sample of 100 lung cancer patients. Tools: Two tools were used I): A structured interviewing questionnaire was including four parts to assess; A): Demographic characteristics of the lung cancer patients, B): Medical history of lung cancer patients, C): Patients knowledge about lung cancer, D): Patients practices about lung cancer. II): quality of life Scale to measure with physical, social, emotional and functional patients with lung cancer. Results: 62% had good knowledge post intervention, also 85% of the studied patients were has satisfactory practices post intervention, 59 % of lung cancer patients had good total scores of quality of life post intervention. Conclusion: The rehabilitative intervention succeeded to improve knowledge, practices and quality of life of the lung cancer patients. Recommendations: Continuous rehabilitative intervention for patients with lung cancer to increase their knowledge practices and improve their quality of life.
