Summary
Study Problem:
It makes the individual feeling helpless, hopeless and helpless, weaving around himself a tapestry of loneliness, isolation and alienation, so his imagination depicts him as an unwanted person from his family and his community, He is born with a feeling of hostility to himself and a lack of desire for life, so he hides from them behind his new world from the darkness and becomes an easy prey in the net of being lost.
And because of the importance of self-control as an important preventive variable of positive psychology variables, and its ability to affect all different aspects of the life of individuals within society, and it acts as a strong predictor of the mental health of the individual, so this study was conducted to reveal the nature of the relationship between feeling lost and self-control in a sample of blind teenagers.
Study Problem:
The study problem is crystallized in the following questions:
1- What is the nature of relationship between the feeling of lost and self-control in a sample of blind teenagers?
2- Are there any differences between male and female of blind teenagers regarding the feeling of lost?
3- Are there any differences between male and female of blind teenagers regarding self-control?
Study Objectives:
The study objectives are defined in the following:
1- Exploring the nature of relationship between the feeling of lost and self-control in a sample of blind teenagers.
2- Examining the differences between male and female blind of teenagers concerning the feeling of lost and. Comparing male and female teenagers of blind regarding self-control variable.
Study Significance:
The Theoretical Significance:
 The study is tackling with one of the significant research topics in psychology field, namely, the feeling of lost in relation to self-control in a sample of teenagers of blind.
The Applied Significance:
 The study results could be beneficial in attracting attention of those in charge of preparing academic curricula for the necessity of including such concepts to develop self-control of male and female teenagers of blind, as it decreased in those blind of teenagers after applying the study.
Study Terminology:
- The Feeling Of Lost.
- Self-Control.
- Blind Of Teenagers.
Study Determinants:
1) Methodological Determinants:
 Method:
The present study follows the qualitative-correlative-comparative method, comparing males to females teenagers of blind.
 Study Instruments:
1- Scale of The Feeling Of Lost for Teenagers Of Blind (by researcher).
2- Scale of Self-Control for Teenagers Of Blind (by researcher).
3- Scale of Farouk Moussa for Blind Intelligence (2015).
4- Scale of the Socio-Economic Cultural Level (by Mohamed Saffan & Doaa Khattab, 2016).
2) The Human Determinants:
The study sample is consistent of (100) male/females blind of teenagers, divided into (50 males & 50 females), selected purposely, aged (13-15 year olds) with average age (13.90) and standard deviation (0.718).
3) The Spatial Determinants:
The study sample is selected from Al-Nour & Al-Amal School for the Blind, following Al-Nouzha & Al-Zaiton directorate, Cairo governorate.
4) The Time Determinants:
The study is applied in the first half of the academic year (2020/2021), starting in March 2020 to November 2020.
Review of Literature:
 First: Studies have tackled with the feeling of lost in blind of teenagers.
 Second: Studies have tackled with self-control in blind of teenagers.
 Third: Studies tackle with the relationship between the feeling of lost and self-control in teenagers of blind.
Study Hypotheses:
In light of the theoretical framework and results of previous studies, the study hypotheses are defined in the following:
1- There is a negative significant statistical correlation between average scores of a sample of blind teenagers on scale of the feeling of lost for blind and scale of self-control.
2- There are statistically significant differences between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind regarding the scale of the feeling of lost for blind.
3- There are significant statistical differences between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind regarding the scale of self-control for blind.
Statistical Approaches:
1- Alpha Coefficient, for counting reliability of the scales.
2- Pearson Coefficient Correlation, for counting the Split half Reliability of scales.
3- Spearman-Brown Split half Reliability (Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient), for correcting the scale length.
4- Non-Parameter T. Test, for differences among independent groups.
Study Results:
The first hypothesis: states that “There is a statistically significant correlation between average scores of a sample of blind teenagers on scale of the feeling of lost and scale of self-control for blind”.
For checking validity of the first hypothesis, the researcher has calculated Pearson Coefficient Correlation, as there is a significant statistical negative correlation between average scores of teenagers of blind on scale of the feeling of lost for blind (Psychological alienation, low self-confidence, inability to take responsibility, despair, and the full score) and self-control in blind (control of emotions and feelings, self-evaluation, self-awareness, self-promotion, and the full score) at (0.01) significance level, asserting the negativity of relationship between scores of the feeling of lost and scores of self-control in teenagers of blind. For identifying the common variance rate between the two variables, the verification coefficient is counted by quadrature of the coefficient correlation then multiplication it to (100) to transfer it into percentage of variance of the study sample scores.
The second hypothesis: it states that “There is a statistically significant differences between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind on scale of the feeling of lost and scale of self-control for blind”.
For checking validity of this hypothesis, the researcher has counted the non-parameter T. Test, for defining differences between independent groups. Results indicate statistically significant differences between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind on scale of the feeling of lost for blind (Psychological alienation, low self-confidence, inability to take responsibility, despair, and the full score), in favor of males.
Comparing this result to the previous studies results, it is found that this result agrees with the previous results of (Hoda Ibrahim, 2005, Badr Al-Ansari, 2001, Badr Nofal, 2016 & Nagy Al-Sa`idah, 2018), indicating statistically significant differences exist between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind on scale of the feeling of lost for blind, in favor of males.
The third hypothesis: it states that “There is a statistically significant differences between average scores of male/female teenagers of blind on scale of self-control for blind”.
For checking validity of this hypothesis, the researcher has counted the non-parameter T. Test, for defining differences between independent groups. Results indicate statistically significant differences between average scores of the study sample of male/female teenagers of blind on scale of self-control in blind (control of emotions and feelings, self-evaluation, self-awareness, self-promotion, and the full score), in favor of females.
Comparing this result to the previous studies results, it is found that this result agrees with the previous results of (Asmaa Al-Sseed, 2005, Abd Rabbo Shaaban, 2010 & Hisham Jad Al- Rab, 2012), as they are all indicate statistically significant differences exist between male and females teenagers of blind on scale of scale of self-control in blind, in favor of females.
