The most important characteristic of societies, old and new, developed and developing, is that they are changing societies, and this is a fact. There is no society that has repented, and there is no society in which we do not see a change in its economics, policy, organization and values. Social change is a fundamental phenomenon that characterizes social life. where the Arab societies in general, and the Libyan society in particular, during the other two decades witnessed important changes at all levels and fields, economic, social, cultural and political, as the factors of social change and the various social transformations in the Libyan society led to social, economic, cultural, political and other changes and transformations in various fields, where development programs and plans, the entry of technology and the development of means of communication, have led to changes such as the change in values, habits and patterns of the family and its functions. Before development plans and programs occurred and technology entered society, individuals were preserving their traditions, customs and patterns of behavior, and the family was the first unit or cell. Which takes care of its members, and raises and upbringing them socially, intellectually and morally. Given the importance of the family in the social upbringing of its children, it is the first social environment to learn social skills, and as a result of the social transformations that the Libyan family has witnessed in recent times, some families have begun to lose or give up some of their jobs, and they can no longer perform all their economic, social, educational, recreational and other functions. The jobs it was doing before the change factors occurred and the introduction of technology and development programs. As a result of the social transformations and social change that has occurred in the Libyan society in general and the family in particular, it has become certain that the family, as one of the basic systems in society, is not isolated from the influences and changes that affect society in general, whether that is due to internal factors or external factors. Many researchers believe that the family is one of the most important factors of social upbringing, affected by the social changes that societies, especially the Libyan society, have witnessed. Objectives of the study : 1. Identify the most important social transformations that have taken place in Libyan society? 2. Knowing the role of the family in the process of socialization? 3. Recognize the changes that occurred in the social upbringing within the family? 4. Knowing the extent of the impact of social transformations on social upbringing within the family? The current study is one of the studies that relies on the descriptive analytical approach, and based on the objectives, questions and nature of the study, the study relied on the questionnaire and interview tool, to know the social transformations and their impact on social upbringing within the Libyan family, and the study was applied to (200) single heads of families in the city of Al-Khums. Center in Libya. Main results of the study: ــ The results of the study showed that the majority of the sample members believe that there have been changes in their city, and that one of the manifestations of these changes is the spread and construction of private clinics, then the possession of modern equipment at home, followed by the spread of kindergartens, then the change in the shape of buildings and the emergence of modern buildings such as those in cities, followed by The change in the expansion and paving of secondary roads, and finally the improvement of the level of public services in the city. ــThe results of the study revealed that the most important transformations that occurred in the family are the weakness of social relations, especially between relatives and neighbors, followed by the weakness of the ties between them and the lack of dialogue, then the large demands of its children, followed by the weak supervision of the children and the large number of their problems, and finally their small size, and we conclude from this that the weakness of social relations Especially between relatives and neighbors, one of the most important transformations that have taken place in the Libyan family, especially in recent years. ــThe results of the study indicated that there is a wide spread of the use of modern technological tools and devices in the study community, where more than half of the study sample indicated their use of modern technological devices and tools, compared to a small group that still uses old devices. ــ The results of the study showed that the majority of the respondents confirm that they heard of accidents and crimes that occurred in their city soon, and that the majority of the accidents that occurred in the city are disputes between individuals, then drugs, then theft, then accidents, then kidnapping, and finally, other incidents came, namely the spread of arms and immigration Illegal cases, and cases of rape, and this indicates that the phenomenon of crime has increased in recent years, and that is due to the changes that the Libyan society has witnessed, and the lack of security services for this matter, and they also reported that these incidents and crimes occur individually. ــThe results of the study indicated that most of the respondents assert that social change has an impact on the process of socialization carried out by the family towards its children, and this indicates that the social changes witnessed by the Libyan society in recent years have an impact on the process of socialization carried out by the family for its children. The results of the study indicated that the majority of the sample members confirm that there is a change in the methods of socialization from what it was in the past, and that the reasons for that change were the result of the transformations witnessed by the society, followed by the adoption of modern methods such as reward, punishment, guidance and direction, instead of the old methods such as Beating, neglect, distress, etc., followed by assigning the process of upbringing to community organizations and institutions, and finally for other reasons such as raising awareness, spreading education, changing opinions and ideas from the above, and spreading technology of all kinds. Study Recommendations: 1. The necessity of conducting more Arab studies that deal with the phenomenon of transformations in societies in all fields at the present time, especially in light of the developments and changes that are sweeping Arab societies in general and the Libyan society in particular. 2. The necessity of the state’s interest in supporting the role of the family in socialization, through the Ministry of Education and the Ministries of Culture and Information, to spread the culture of the community that is consistent with its identity, values, traditions and beliefs. 3. The necessity of the state’s intervention to solve some of the economic problems that society is going through, and to confront the problems and challenges that the society has been experiencing, especially in recent years, as a result of what the society is going through in terms of war, political and economic events, tendencies etc, such as the spread of crime Of all kinds, high prices, low income and others, the family is not able to meet its necessary needs, and to play its role in the process of socialization to the fullest. 4. The family should be keen on raising the children, and providing them with enough time to sit down, talk to them and follow them up, and provide advice and assistance to them when they encounter life’s problems and difficulties. 5. The number of family members must be ideal and exemplary, in order to achieve a balance between the family’s resources and needs, and to provide a healthy and sound environment conducive to the growth of the child and the development of his abilities, talents and preparations, as well as raising children to take responsibility, and awareness of the value of material resources so that adults contribute to the family by investing energy The ability, talent, and available resources to transform the family from being completely consuming to being productive in some fields, to increase income and rationalize consumption. 6. The necessity of upgrading scientific research and allocating the appropriate budget through which it can develop and transform research and theoretical ideas into inventions and technological machines, and develop the industrial system to keep pace with the development in the scientific market.
