The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a training program for developing the counseling skills of educational counselors in Karak Governorate schools in Jordan. The study sample consisted of (24) male and female educational counselors in Karak Governorate Schools in Jordan divided into two equivalent groups: Experimental and control. Study instruments implied a Scale of Counseling Skills and a Training Program (prepared by the researcher). The study results revealed statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental and control groups in the posttest on the Scale of Counseling Skills in favor of the experimental group. The study results also revealed statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the pre and posttests on the Scale of Counseling Skills in favor of the posttest. Whereas The study results revealed no statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the post and follow up test on the Scale of Counseling Skills. The results showed high effect size of the training program in developing the counseling skills of educational counselors as well. The researcher recommended using the training program used in the present study for developing the counseling skills of educational counselors.
