Abstract

DLBCL is the most common is the most common type of NHL. It accounts for about 25% of all NHL in the developed countries. Our study investigated the incidence and the clinicopathologic significance of MYD88L265P mutation in DLBCL patients with assessment of the potential prognostic role of MYD88 L256P mutation as a predictor of response to therapy, progression of disease and overall survival compared to IPI. The study included (87) patients with Non –Hodgkin lymphoma (DLBCL type). The study was carried out over 3 years and was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Mansoura University Hospital. The study supported that elevated LDH is associated with low overall survival and disease-free survival, also high CNS-IPI score is associated with low overall survival without significant effect of age or stage of the disease. The overall incidence of the MYD88 L265P mutation was 60.9% with slight predominance of non-germinal subtype vs germinal (53% vs 47%). The mutation is associated with elevated LDH and high stage of the disease without significant effect on overall survival or disease-free survival.
