The study presented the topic of the Suez Canal Axis A Study On Economic Development Geography where the study contains six chapters preceded by introduction and followed by a conclusion, and includes the introduction limits of the study area and the reasons for the choice of the subject and the objectives and importance of the study, and the problem of pureand its methods, methods, subject study and sources, previous studies, and the content of the study. The first chapter The importance of studying the historical development of the Suez Canal region, addressing the Suez Canal during the Pharaonic and Islamic period, and the beginning of the colonial thinking of Egypt and linking it to the construction of a canal between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, the canal in the Ottoman era and the role and reasons for France’s interest in the construction of the canal, in addition to the British role, the period of the rule of Said Pasha and the beginnings of the channel’s drilling and opening and nationalization, and the post-nationalization phase, in addition to the separation of the Canal and finally the importance of the Suez Canal and its role during the Gulf War. The second chapter The geographical factors of the Suez Canal axis and its role in the development process, in terms of geographical location, spatial relations, geological characteristics, hydrological characteristics, terrain characteristics, and climatic conditions. The third chapter The seaports of the Suez Canal axis and its navigational characteristics where we review both the seaports and their importance, and the seaports of the Suez Canal axis and its navigational characteristics (Suez Port, Port Of Ain Sokhna, Port, Port East Port, Literary Port, Oil Basin Port, Port of El Arish), and finally address port management and performance indicators. Chapter four: was devoted to the study of the analysis of transport traffic within the Suez Canal axis, where he addressed the importance of the Suez Canal as a global shipping pass and the role of the Suez Canal in the development of global navigation and the historical development of navigation in the Suez Canal, the fragmentation of the new Suez Canal and its importance and the movement of ships by type between 2008-2018, and the analysis of the movement of ships transiting the Suez Canal in 2018-2019. Chapter five: Entitled Economic Development and Logistics for Shipping, it dealt with economic development and the concepts associated with it and the extent of the interdependence between economic growth and the importance of transport in the process of economic development in addition to shipping and the importance of the Egyptian economy, foreign trade and its association with shipping and its role in economic development, and an analysis of Egypt’s competitive situation (2016-2017) to identify weaknesses and strengths as well as logistics services and their association with geography and its role in the process of economic development. Chapter six, the study deals with problems and the future of development in the study area. As he dealt with the problems of economic development of the Canal Corridor, identifying its dimensions and trying to find appropriate solutions to them, in addition to the projects of the Suez Canal Corridor and the economic zones in the region, and the future of development in the study area.
