Abstract

This study aimed to realize educational contents in Dickens’s novels and Arnold’s writings and benefit from them to enrich the educational reform in Egypt. The current study implemented the descriptive and historical approach, and the samples concentrated on analyzing Hard Times, David Copperfield, Sketches by Boz and Arnold’s Educational ideas. In addition, this study lead to some results that could summarized as the following: Reduce the gap between the Ministry of Education’s plans and the reality of achieving these plans. Increase the financial resources from other institutions and people’s fund to provide poor schools in the rural areas with means of technology and school-infrastructure. Take students’ problems and interests into consideration. Take teachers’ needs and demands into consideration as related to salaries and housing. Enhance teachers skills for better teaching outcomes. Show interest in the preschool stage as it is a keystone to form children’s character. Express an interest in strengthening values of affiliation and love from children to their home as early as childhood. Show an interest in applying all means of technology whether in urban or rural schools to match the progress of information community in the developed countries. Increase funds for projects of teachers professional development. Follow the evaluation of teachers performance through objective methods of exams for promotion.
