Abstract
• Incineration is the best way to treat and dispose of medical waste• Incineration is more sophisticate method, with complicate equipment and higher maintenance costs which raise the overall private costs.• Incineration has a bigger potential for recovery because it is possible to produce energy from waste combined with the recovery of some metals from the ash. Using landfill option, it is possible to produce energy, but it is almost impossible to recover any useful material from land without a separation.• Both landfill and incineration are causing environmental pollution, but in different forms and with different intensities.• Incineration and landfilling are fundamentally different due to the main process used for garbage degradation but, from the waste management point of view, there are some common ,both methods can process big volumes of garbage.
