Abstract There is a growing interest to enhance cellular network support for vehicular communication. Cellular networks based on cognitive radio (CR) technology are a promising solution for both improving the network capacity in areas facing high customer density and achieving matching between costs and demand in areas of low customer density. The research proposes a mobility management technique that handles both spectrum and user mobility in CR cellular network in highway (V2I) scenarios. Comparing the proposed scheme with classical handoff schemes, results show that our scheme achieves better performance in supporting the mobility and the reliable communications in CR cellular networks. |
