Abstract

The present thesis discussed the influence of ZnO nano particles on physicochemical properties of white cement and clinker, by addition the ZnO to each of them and testing the impact of these addition.
Chapter (1)
It includes an overview of cement production industry and introduction about ZnO nano particles preparation and application of ZnO in many industry. It also includes the previous study for addition af ZnO to cement.
Chapter (2)
This chapter describe the effect of addition ZnO to white cement with different size and concentration. The chapter studied the effect of ZnO on compressive strength, setting time, expansion, and whiteness. It also inspect the progresses in hydration processes of treated cement by using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR).
Chapter (3)
This chapter describe the effect of addition ZnO to white clinker with different concentration with optimum size which selected from previous chapter and detect the optimum ratio of ZnO. It also describe the effect of combination of ZnO with gypsum on white clinker by using optimum concentration of ZnO and change the gypsum ratio. The chapter studied the effect of ZnO and combination of ZnO with gypsum on compressive strength, setting time, expansion, and whiteness. It also inspect the progresses in hydration processes of treated cement by using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR).
Chapter (4)
This chapter describe the effect of quenching the hot clinker by suspended solution of ZnO with different concentration to detect the optimum ratio of ZnO. The chapter studied the effect of ZnO on free lime, liter weight, blaine, compressive strength, setting time, expansion, and whiteness.
Chapter (5)
The chapter gives the conclusion and recommendation related to the thesis.
