Abstract
In this chapter, we developed numerical expressions for the average symbol
error rate, and the Pout of an FSO system with M-ary ASK modulation
scheme operating over Málaga turbulent channel with nonzero boresight
pointing error. The effects of the boresight components of the pointing error
were taken into consideration. Furthermore, we derived asymptotic and
approximation formulas for the average SER and the Pout. The expressions
have been validated by the solution of the exact formulas. Moreover, the
power of Málaga distribution was highlighted by the mathematical
derivation of its lognormal, K-truculence and gamma-gamma special cases.
Numerical analysis results illustrated the effect of the nonzero boresight
pointing error severity and the atmospheric turbulence conditions severity
on the system performance..
