Abstract

Dissertation Abstract : The present study aimed at investigating the impact of using YouTube authentic video strategy on improving preparatory stage pupils’ pronunciation skills and motivation. The targeted pronunciation sub- skills were (intonation, stress, consonants, and vowels). The study adopted the quasi-experimental design using thirty 2nd year preparatory stage EFL pupils to be the study participants. Instruments designed and used in the study were a pre-post pronunciation test, scoring rubric, pre-post motivation scale. The experimental treatment was conducted during the two months of (July and August) of the academic year (2019-2020). Results indicated significant differences in the pre and post-performance of the study group on the EFL pronunciation test and the motivation scale in favor of the post administration. These results emphasized that the YouTube authentic videos strategy led to enhance the participants` pronunciation skills and their motivation in learning English language.
