The study dealt with depictions of Carriages in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts from the beginning of the fifth century AH (the eleventh century AD) until the end of the twelfth century AH (the eighteenth CE), as the carriages constituted an important pictorial element in many of the representations of Islamic manuscripts that abounded in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts Through it, we can identify the different forms of these Carriages over the ages, and the extent of development that has taken place in them in terms of composition, as the designs of the Carriages differed according to their different functions and uses, and the pictorial subjects contained in the Carriage element, such as the military Carriages that were painted in scenes of depicting war battles, and civilian Carriages in scenes Pictures of celebrations and occasions of all kinds.
The researcher divided the study into: an introduction and a preface, and two chapters, each of which is divided into two parts, then referred to the conclusion, and the results revealed and proven by the research. About the study and the reasons for choosing the research, The objectives of the study and the most important previous studies that were relied upon, the most important manuscripts on which the study relied, the difficulties that the researcher faced, and the introduction follows the preface, in which the researcher referred to the origins of Carriages and their first uses for various purposes, and the history of the development of Carriages and their designs in ancient times..
As for the first chapter, it includes the descriptive study of Carriage images in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts, This chapter is divided into two parts:
Part One: Photographs of Military Carriages.
This part includes a description of the depictions of military carriages in Iranian schools (Mughal, Galariah, Timurid, first and second Safavid), and also includes a descriptive study of depictions of military carriages in the Indian Mughal school and contemporary local schools, in addition to its depiction of a war chariot attributed to the Ottoman illustrations.
Part Two: Illustrations of Civilian Carriages.
This chapter includes a description of the depictions of civilian Carriages in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts, as it includes a description of the images of Carriages for celebrations and social occasions (marriage wagons - circumcision wagons - funeral wagons), as well as a description of the depictions of all kinds of transport Carriages in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts (carts transporting goods - transporting animals). transporting people), In addition to describing the Carriages of the crafts cults participating in the circumcision ceremonies of the sons of the Ottoman sultans.
As for the second chapter, it includes the analytical study of Carriage images in the Illustrations of Islamic manuscripts. This chapter is divided into two parts:
Part One: Designs and methods for towing military and civilian Carriages.
This chapter is concerned with the analytical study of the various designs of military and civilian Carriages in Islamic schools of Illustration, as well as the study of the different methods of towing these Carriages.
Chapter Two: Decorative Elements and Colors.
It includes the analytical study of the decorative elements that adorn Carriages, which are divided into floral and geometric motifs, and the ornate human and animal drawings of Carriage depictions in Islamic illustration, as well as the drawings of flags and banners above Carriages. This chapter also includes an analytical study of the colors used in Carriage drawings and their connotations.
This is followed by the conclusion and the most important findings of the study, including:
1- Knowing the general shape of the Carriage’s design, which consists of the box of the Carriage and is often connected to it from the front, the front of the Carriage. Attached to the front end of the Carriage.
