The study is one of the descriptive studies that aims to identify the standards of professional treatment used by international satellite channels directed at addressing the issues of terrorist organizations, and the effects that this treatment has on the Egyptian public’s attitudes towards terrorist organizations. The study relies on the analytical and field survey method for collecting information and presenting data. The researcher also relies on the comparative approach to determine the similarities and differences in presenting the issues of terrorist organizations in the channels of the study sample and the method of addressing these issues. The community of the analytical study is represented in the news material presented by the international channels most watched by the public, according to the survey, which is [BBC Arabic - France 24 - Russia Today RT - Al-Hurra American], and the sample was represented in the news releases in those channels during the period from 1/5/2020 AD until 7/31/2020 in a comprehensive inventory method. The field study community is represented by the person in charge of the international satellite channels directed at the study sample and the Egyptian public in its various categories and intellectual and cultural levels, numbering 100 million people. According to the statement of the Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics, where the study was applied to a random sample of 450 individuals who follow the channels directed to the study sample, as well as an in-depth interview was conducted with a number of communicators in the study sample channels, and the researcher relied on the content analysis newspaper, and the questionnaire form, An in-depth interview to collect study data. The results : -Directed international channels relied on the long news (more than 90 seconds) in dealing with the issues of terrorist organizations in order to present the course of events and provide all the information available to the public, and the short news came in second place (less than 60 seconds), and finally the medium news (from 60 to less than 90 seconds)) The channels of the study sample focused on the political aspects of dealing with the issues of terrorist organizations, due to the great interest of these channels in the political news content, and with a small difference, security issues came in second place, and military issues came in third place, then social aspects ranked fourth, while economic issues came in the last order. -The terrorist organization ISIS acquired the largest number of news related to the issues of terrorist organizations during the study period, then the news of the Taliban movement, and the news of the Houthis came in third place, then another category mentioned and the channels in this category combined more than one organization in the news or did not attribute the news to a group Certain, then the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and Al-Qaeda in the sixth place, then the armed militias in Libya, and the extreme right is equal with the Muslim Brotherhood in the eighth place, then Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, and finally Boko Haram and the Mujahideen Youth Movement in the last order. -The BBC Arabic channel topped the list of the international channels directed most followed by the sample members, then the Russian channel Russia Today (RT) came in second place, then the French channel France 24, and in the fourth place came the American Al Hurra, and the German channel DW-TV came in the fifth, then Iranian Al-Alam TV, Turkish TRT, Euronews, China International, and finally, the Israeli satellite channel in Arabic, in the last order. -The cognitive motives came at the forefront of the reasons for individuals to follow the sample of the international satellite study, the forefront of which came to know information about local and global issues and events, then it provides immediate coverage of the events from its location, and increases my culture and knowledge of the countries of the world, and then helps me in forming my opinions on issues presented, then presenting distinct news programmes, then to distinguish the performance of broadcasters and correspondents in them, then behavioral motives and their issuance; Getting rid of boredom and occupying leisure time, then entertainment and relaxation, and the emotional motives were that this viewing is an opportunity to meet family members and sit with them, which came in the last order. -The validity of the first hypothesis has been proven “with the existence of a statistically significant correlation between the respondents’ exposure to directed international channels and their reliance on them to obtain information about terrorist organizations. -The validity of the second hypothesis has been proven “with the existence of a correlation with a statistical significance between the public’s dependence on directed international channels and the extent of their knowledge of the issues of terrorist organizations. The participants in the in-depth interview with the researcher unanimously agreed that there are many criteria that must be adhered to when presenting cases of terrorist organizations on the screens of their channels in which they work, and the most important of these criteria are: Accuracy and impartiality in presenting the case. Be responsible towards the audience watching the channel Use of terms that describe the perpetrators of the terrorist act Attributing the news to a source Do not publish violent images Objectivity, balance and not adopting a single point of view Defining the danger of terrorist organizations Hosting specialists to give an analytical dimension to the issue.
