Abstract

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that causes adverse change and is widely defined as the introduction by man into the environment of substances or energy liable to cause hazards to human health, harm to living resources and ecological system damage to structures, amenity or interface with legitimate uses of the environment [1-3]. Pollution is a worldwide issue and its potential in influencing health of the human population is great. Excessive levels of pollution are causing a lot of damage to human and animal health. Also it causes damage to plants including tropical rain forests as well as the wider environment [4].When an environment alters its chemical composition due to human activities, without any obvious biological consequences, it is called contaminated. Therefore, contamination is used for cases where a substance is present in the environment, but not causing any obvious harm [1].
