Abstract

The paranasal sinus and nasal mucosa are continuous structures in terms of anatomic continuity and histological and physiological on mucociliary clearance mechanism. So the term Rhinosinusitis is more practical than sinusitis and rhinitis separated. Both ethmoid and turbinate mucosa share to great extent the macro and micro changes in CRS wNP, so addressing the middle turbinate in medical as well as surgical management of CRS looks advisable. Removing polypoidal part of the head of MT during FESS does not look a criminal surgical act like it used to be considered in the past. It is even advisable when it large enough to obstruct the middle meatus and hinder follow up and obstruct the postoperative local steroid delivary.
