Abstract

Information technologies have developed rapidly in recent years and become an indispensable part of health care services as in the very field. The aim of this study was to examine factors Affecting Application of Information Technology System among Nurses at Oncology Center in El Mansoura University. A descriptive correlational research design was used with a sample 180 staff nurses who working at the Oncology Center in El Mansoura University. Data was collected by four tools: personal and job characteristics,) organization factors that include (a) user involvement scale, (b) a management support scale, information systems uses a scale and benefits use the information systems scale. Results revealed that study nurses had moderate level toward the information systems use benefits (58.3%), user involvement (55%) and management support (51.7%). Also, (53.4%) of the study nurses had high level related to information systems use. In conclusion, there was a highly significant positive correlation between total benefits use information systems of the studied nurses and their user involvement, management support and information systems use. Therefore, this study recommended that, provide many chances for the continued training and awareness of healthcare professionals for promoting use of electronic medical records efficiently and study nurses’ attitudes and satisfaction with electronic medical records, medication administration records systems, and nearby paperless hospitals .
