Abstract
Several wastewater treatment plants technologies have been set up in the Egyptian villages; however, the most efficient and economical technology hasn’t been determined. This research aims to determine the best type of treatment plant by evaluating a number of influential factors and focusing on reaching the most cost efficient in terms of construction, operation and maintenance, and energy throughout the life time of the plant. The best combination of the treatment plants were determined based on a questionnaire distributed to a group of experts to carry out assessment of the factors affecting these plants. The most cost efficient plant was determined according to the life cycle cost analysis method which depends on the life time of the plant to calculate its total cost.
