Abstract

The experimental design was a split – split plot with three replications.Harvesting ages randomly distributed to main plot, thevarietieswere assigned as sub-plot and the three phosphorus fertilization levels were allocated as sub-sub-plots. Each plot contains five ridges, with seven meters in length and one meter in width.
Sugarcane varieties were planted in mid-March with the dry method, and the field was irrigated right after planting and all other agronomic practices were carried out as recommended under Aswan region conditions. Plant cane was allowed to ratoon. Harvest took place 10, 11, 12 months after planting or harvesting date.
The optainet results could be summarized as follows:
1.Effect of phosphorus fertilization levels as well as their interaction on growth characters sugar cane varieties.
1-Number of stalks/m2.
The results showed that the number of plants per square meter was significantly affected by cultivars in both seasons except at 180 days in the first season. The varieties gave the highest values at 150 days in the type Giza 54-9 in the first season and at 90 days in the type Giza 2003-47 in the second season.
The results obtained the level of phosphate fertilization and raised these results in the characteristic at 90, 120, 150 and 180 days of planting in the first and second season. Obtaining the highest values of phosphate fertilization significantly affected the number of plants / m2 at 150 days and the level of 45 kg of phosphate fertilization in the first season and at 90 days and the level of 45 kg of phosphate fertilization in the second season.
The number of plants / m2 was significantly affected by the interaction between the varieties and the levels of phosphate fertilization at 90, 120, 150 and 180 days in the first and second seasons.
