Importance of the study: 1) This study comes within the framework of the growing interest in the recent years with people with special needs and their right to provide all educational services and rehabilitation care for them as it is available to ordinary people to satisfy their growth needs and assert themselves within the community. 2) It addressed one of the most important categories of people with special needs, namely the blind category, which increased attention due to the lack of attention and care that this category suffers from. 3) This study focuses on addressing an important age stage of the visually impaired, which is the stage of adolescence, which is a critical and dangerous stage of development for ordinary people. 4) The current study is an addition to the theoretical heritage about the family climate and its relationship to both psychological safety and achievement motivation for an important segment of Libyan society, namely the visually impaired, because of the problems and difficulties that this segment suffers from, especially at the present time when the Libyan people are suffering from the deteriorating political, economic and social conditions . b) Practical importance: 1) The results of this study may contribute to the design of counseling programs with the aim of developing some positive variables among the blind, such as psychological safety and achievement motivation. 2) The researcher hopes that the results of this study will be of benefit to those interested in educational affairs through the establishment of guiding programs for parents on how to make the family climate together. 3) The results of this study may contribute to developing some recommendations and suggestions that can be used to meet the needs of people with visual impairment. 4) The study may come out with results that open the way for further research on the nature of the current study’s variables, and the role of each of them in achieving the mental health of people with visual disabilities, especially in light of the conditions Libya is going through. Study Hypotheses: 1) There is a statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of family climate (family cohesion, freedom of expression, conflict between family members, orientation toward independence, orientation toward organization and task completion, religious and moral orientation, recreational and cultural orientation) and psychological safety among a sample of students with visual disabilities in Libya . Results: 1) There is a positive, statistically significant relationship between some dimensions of the family climate scale and psychological safety among the study sample. 2) There is a statistically significant negative relationship between the conflict between family members and psychological safety among the study sample. 3) There is a positive, statistically significant relationship between some dimensions of the family climate scale and achievement motivation for the study sample. 4) There is a statistically significant negative relationship between the conflict between family members and the achievement motivation among the study sample. 5) There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females in the family climate, except for the dimension of freedom of expression, where differences were found between males and females in the direction of males. 6) There are no statistically significant differences between those with partial visual impairment and total visual impairment in the dimensions of family climate. 7) Psychological safety can be predicted through the dimensions of the family climate (family cohesion, orientation towards organization and task completion, recreational and cultural orientation). 8) The achievement motivation can be predicted through the dimensions of the family climate (recreational and cultural orientation, religious and moral orientation). The results of the study were interpreted in the light of theoretical frameworks, previous studies and the researcher’s point of view, and the researcher came up with some recommendations and proposed research.
