Abstract

In the present time, scrupulous use of energy is a challenge for the world population especially in Egypt. The natural resources of energy are depleting day by day and the present resources seem inadequate to fulfill the need of human beings in future. This period, Egypt is attesting the creation of new communities and our needs for energy will increasing epically in buildings cooling, so we need a way to design buildings with low energy. Using the passive techniques in buildings for cooling will be more harmonious with the nature and will achieve energy efficiency. This study will define the most effective passive cooling techniques for hot humid climate. It also will apply and analyze various passive cooling techniques on various Buildings in Port Said climate using Design Builder simulation program and defining the most effective technique for each building according to its use. The findings of this study will help to explore an approach of design buildings using passive cooling techniques to achieve energy efficiency in Egypt As soon as possible, we recommend to imply and activate this approach of building design with using passive cooling techniques by an activation code for buildings especially for the new buildings to reduce the energy problem in Egypt.
