Abstract 3-Cyano-N-(cyano-2-phenyl-6-(p-tolyl)pyrimdine-4-yl)cyanoacetamide (6) was synthesized and used as a precursor to prepare dithiolane 11 and 13 by the reaction was carbon disulfide. In addition, the synthesis of some pyrimidinyl pyridine 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 27 by reaction with different reagents. The newly synthesized compounds were will characterized by spectroscopic analyses and screen for antitumor activity against three human cell lines of cancer cells, hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG-2), colon cancer (HCT-116), mammary gland breast cancer (MCF-7). The cytotoxic activity of the tested compounds ranged from very strong to week activity. Compounds 9, 10, 11, 27, and 34 showed the highest activity. |
