المستخلص

The two poets: Mahmoud Abu Al-Wafa (1900-1979) and Mahmoud Hassan Ismail (1910-1977) are among the eminent Egyptian poets of the modern era. For that era, their poetic experience was rich in its public and private themes and tools, although each of them had his own distinct artistic style. The poetic lexicon of ””Mahmoud Abu Al-Wafa”” was characterized by simplicity, clarity, and closeness to the language of daily life, to the point of using the common ones. Perhaps the simple language of life in which Abu Al-Wafa’s poetry was distinguished was a motive for Ahmed Zaki Abu Shadi to link him with Al-Buhturi, both of whom are closer to nature and to spontaneity. In a way, as we will show in this research, God willing. As for the poetic language of Mahmoud Hassan Ismail, it is characterized by luxury, generosity and depth, so it reminds us of the language of Abu Tammam, “And between our poet - Mahmoud Hassan Ismail - and Abu Tammam there is a strong bond that expressed itself on multiple occasions in poetry and prose,” as Dr. Abdel Latif Abdel Halim put it. The poetic language of Mahmoud Hassan Ismail combines heritage and contemporary, and it is a characteristic that brings together poets belonging to the Dar’am school. new”” Abu Al-Wafa’s poetic images are characterized by simplicity of installation with a degree of exaggeration sometimes. As for Mahmoud Hassan Ismail, the images are distinguished by him with a degree of complexity, succession and overlap, as he is characterized by his clear tendency to generate and develop the image in order to achieve a kind of growth for it At a time when Abu al-Wafa makes available his pictures from the living environment surrounding him, we find Mahmoud Hassan Ismail often derives his pictures from the huge poetic heritage that he digested well and represented in his poetry.
