Abstract
Aim: The objective of this study was to compare partial denture retained with OT vertical Rhein 83 attachment (slide) design and that partial denture retained with OT cap Rhein 83 attachment (ball) design in Kennedy class I cases to evaluate patient satisfaction and radiographic changes.
Methodology: both groups were Kennedy class I classification with thelast standing abutments were the second premolars. The intervention group received partial denture retained with OT vertical Rhein 83 (slide) attachment and the control group received partial denture retained with OT cap Rhein 83 (ball) attachment .All patients were followed up (at the day of denture delivery, three months, six months, and nine months later). Both groups were evaluated for patient satisfaction by questionnnaire, and bone height, bone density changes using serial digital periapical radiographs and the analysis was done by digora software.
Results: Regarding Patient satisfaction all patients were satisfied with their prosthesis with more satisfaction observed in group II (control Group) than group I (intervention group)
Regarding bone height changes there was no significant difference (decrease) in bone height measurements between both groups.
Regarding bone density, there was no significant difference (increase) in bone density measurements between both groups. Conclusion:
Within the limitation of this study, it can be concluded that
1. Both groups were satisfied with their removable partial dentures.
2. Patients of group II attachment (OT Cap) showed more satisfaction than group I patients (OT Vertical
