Abstract This study aims to assess uterine artery Doppler indices in uterine Fibroid in females with or without abnormal uterine bleeding . This prospective observational study was conducted on 132 women with uterine fibroid subdivided into two groups, one with abnormal uterine bleeding (66 patients) and the other without abnormal uterine bleeding (66 patients)] with transabdominal ultrasonic colour Doppler study performed. Fibroids, also called leiomyomas, are the most common benign gynecological tumor in premenopausal women. They also impose a tremendous burden on women who experience the symptoms related to fibroids. Pain, heavy bleeding, and fatigue are common symptoms and affect multiple domains of personal well-being and work productivity. Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a symptom and not a disease. It is one of the most frequently encountered complaints in gynecologic practice. It accounts for more than 70% of all gynecological consultations in the peri- and post-menopausal age group. Uterine artery Doppler is simple, readily-available and non-invasive tool that could be beneficial in comparison between females with uterine fibroid with and without abnormal uterine bleeding. |
