Abstract The thesis is consisting of three main chapters, are concerning with preparation and characterization of some new transition metal complexes with chelating agents contain a variety of donors; i.e, ONS (Schiff base derived from 2,4- dihydroxybenzaldehyde and S-methyldithiocarbazate). Also, some new organoruthenium(II) complexes with nitrogen donor ligand, viz. 2-aminopyrimidine, 2-aminopyrazine and 4-aminobenzenesulfonamide (sulfanilamide). Examination of these ligands and their metal complexes for their biological activities as; antioxidant activity( by DPPH• radical scavenging and phosphomolybdenum assays), interaction with biomolecules (calf thymus DNA (ct DNA), yeast RNA (tRNA), and BSA (bovine serum albumin)), and in vitro cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines (breast (MCF7), colon (HCT116), liver cancer (HepG2) and normal lung fibroblast (WI38) cell lines using cisplatin as a standard. |
