Abstract
Targeted drug delivery system (TDDS) is a special form of drug delivery system in which the drug is only targeted at its working location.TDDS shows improving the therapeutic index of the drug by facilitating the drug access to the site of action from administration site, protecting the drug from degradation by body environmental factors such as pH, enzymes, etc., avoiding drug’s toxicity to norma cells, facilitating administration of lower
doses to achieve therapeutic benefits and releasing the active ingredients of
drugs around/in the target site to exhibit therapeutic response and achieve
cellular concentrations.
