Abstract

Aim of the study: The aim of the study was: - To Evaluate and compare the effect of 2% chlorohexidine and aqueous extract of cinnamon as disinfectants in cavity restored with nanocomposite resin using self-etch adhesive in human teeth by measuring:- - Microtensile bond strength using universal testing machine. - Nanoleakage using silver nitrate dye. Materials and methods: 33 human premolar teeth were collected from the outpatient clinic of maxillofacial department, faculty of dentistry Suez canal university and divided into three groups of 11 teeth in each group according to the dentin surface treatment used. group I the dentin surfaces didn’t receive any treatment and served as negative control group. group II ,dentin surfaces were treated with 2% chlorohexidine and served as a positive control group. group III , the dentin surfaces received aqueous extract of Cinnamon (20mg/ml) ,it was the experimental group. All teeth then received self-etch adhesive application followed by Nano composite incremental application and were cut into sticks. All groups were evaluated under SEM to assess fracture and nanoleakage analysis. And subjected to microtensile strength test.
