Abstract Periorbital dark circles (PODC) are defined as bilateral round, homogenous pigmented macules on the periorbital regions, and the condition is relatively common affecting individuals regardless of age, sex, and race. It worsens with the aging process, and it can be a significant cosmetic concern for female patients. PODC interfere with the face appearance, giving the patient a tired, sad, or huge-over look.Available treatments for PODC include bleaching creams, topical retinoid acid, chemical peels, laser therapy, autologous fat transplantation,injectable fillers, microneedling and carboxytherapy.This study aimed at comparing the efficacy and tolerability between carboxytherapy, plasma gel injection and vitamin-C mesotherapy in treatment of patients with periorbital dark circles. This study included (30) adult patients complaining from bilateral (PODC) with different grades and types. Their ages ranged from 20 to 60 years. Patients were collected from the outpatient clinic of Dermatology and Venereology Department, Tanta University Hospital. Patients were distributed randomly and equally to three different groups of treatment.All patients were subjected to the following before procedure: 1. Informed written consent.2. Complete history taking e.g. personal history (name, age, sex, etc.),family history, past medical history and duration of PODC.3. Thorough general and dermatological examination. |
