Summary of the study
A proposed Program in Social group Work Method and Development of the moral values for the students of the secondary stage
First : The Problem of The Study :
The development is a new lifestyle contains values, trends, means, and goals. And the pursuit of goals should be preceded, accompanied, and punished by a clear thought that protects from useless imitation. The human element is one of the most important factors affecting development, as it is the pillar of production, and it is the element that cannot be dispensed with in the development process. Education is about preparing individuals to live well in a world worth living in. Therefore, education has dual purposes, namely, the development of individuals and society as a whole. Therefore, education must be concerned with the development and formation of individuals in conjunction with the development and formation of the society in which we live. Both are intertwined and depend on each other.
Social work is one of the professions that aims to help people by providing them with social services. As well as bringing about desired social changes in individuals, families, groups and societies in cooperation with other professions in order to achieve social stability, and community service seeks to achieve a main goal, which is the growth of the individual and the group and contribute to the change of society. in human life. The social worker works with the groups face to face with the intent of helping them direct their efforts towards achieving his goals.
The secondary stage is one of the important stages in which many modern educational systems in developed and developing countries alike show great interest in it because of its impact on shaping young people during adolescence. The high school stage is one of the important stages in the lives of individuals because it coincides with the stage of adolescence, where psychological, physiological and social changes . In light of the changes that the student is going through at this stage, whether related to his self-development or the school community, which is characterized by a special character in the school, high school students need to strengthen, develop and educate their moral values.
And Moral values are the subject of education, It is one of the most important inputs that govern human behavior, as it plays an important role at the individual or societal level, It is the basis for choosing the best behaviors to achieve social cohesion, Values are a necessary element for regulating the construction and relations between social systems in society. The existence of a set of values around which members of society gather is the basis for cohesion, integration and continuity of social construction. The development of moral values for students is one of the foundations of building society, and the problem of the study can be formulated in the following title “A proposed program in the way of working with groups and developing moral values for secondary school student” .
Secondly: the importance of studying:.
The study derives its importance from:
1- Building and forming the personality is the main engine of the development process, so the state has taken care of human development because of its positive role in the comprehensive development process.
2- The importance of values in general because of their vital impact in guiding human behavior and the individual’s sense of his value and his ability to contribute to the development of his society in various fields.
3- The restriction of Egyptian education to the method of indoctrination led to a decline in the role of the school in instilling values, which made the student lose important aspects in the education process.
4- The secondary stage is one of the most important stages of life because it represents the strength of society because of its responsibility in the future, so it needs to strengthen moral values, as it represents the number of high school students at the level of the Republic for the academic year 2019 – 2020 (1,527,699) And for the academic year 2020 – 2021 (676,253) , The number of high school students at the level of Assiut Governorate for the academic year 2019 – 2020 (56656) And for the academic year 2020 – 2021 (23012) .
5- One of the preventive goals of social work is to work on developing and building the capabilities of students in order to carry out their roles and functions in society.
6- The method of community service interest in the program as an important educational tool in achieving its goals in various fields, especially the school field, especially secondary school students.
Third: Objectives of the study :
1-Determining the concept of moral values among secondary school students.
2- Determining the role of the social worker in developing the moral values of secondary school students.
3- Determining the techniques used by the social worker in developing the moral values of high school students.
4- Determining the obstacles facing the social worker in developing the moral values of secondary school students.
5-Identifying proposals that contribute to the development of moral values among secondary school students.
6-Reaching a proposed program in the way of working with groups and developing moral values for secondary school students.
Fourth: Study questions :
1- What is the concept of moral values among secondary school students?
2- What is the role of the social worker in developing the moral values of secondary school students?
3-What are the techniques used by the social worker in developing the moral values of high school students?
4-What are the obstacles facing the social worker in developing the moral values of secondary school students?
5- What are the suggestions that contribute to the development of moral values among secondary school students?
6-What is the proposed program in the way of working with groups and developing moral values for secondary school students?
Fifth: Concepts of the study :
The main concepts used in the study are defined as follows :
1- Program concept.
2- The concept of moral values.
3- High school students concept.
Sixth: The methodological procedures of the study:
1- Type of study: The current study belongs to the type of descriptive studies.
2-Method used: Comprehensive Social Survey.
3-Study tools
A questionnaire form for social workers working with students in public secondary schools in the city and center of Assiut.
4-Study fields:
(a) Spatial domain: The spatial domain of this study was determined in the general secondary schools in the city and center of Assiut.
(b) The human field: The human field was selected for this study according to the following:
- Social workers working in general secondary schools in the city and center of Assiut, and they are 50 social workers.
(c) Time Domain: It is the period of time that the researcher took in the field study procedures from (15/6/2021) to (17/7/2021) .
Seventh: Study results:
1-The results of the study showed that the most important moral values among high school students, in order of relative strength, are as follows :
(a) The value of etiquette of speaking.
- The student is obligated to frown and frown while speaking in people’s faces.
- The student listens to the other speaker until he finishes his speech and does not interrupt him.
- The student slows down in speaking until the listener understands what he is talking about.
(b) Honesty value.
- The student should be conscientious in his dealings with his colleagues.
- The student fulfills his covenant with others.
- The student does not have the confidence of everyone around him.
(c) Responsibility value.
- The student feels responsible for his studies.
- The student is keen to achieve a balance between his academic goals and his other goals.
- The student depends on others in all his affairs.
2- The results of the study showed that the most important roles played by social workers in developing moral values for high school students are as follows:
- Encouraging students to keep the covenant with others and instructing students to listen well to the speaker and not interrupt him.
- Instructing students on the importance of telling the truth in all circumstances.
- I convince students of the importance of the school’s role in developing moral values.
Helping students solve their problems.-
- I encourage students to actively participate in the implementation of activities that develop moral values.
- I help students uphold moral values.
- Study social phenomena that affect students’ values.
3- The results of the study showed that the most important techniques used by the social worker in developing moral values for high school students are as follows:
- Employing group discussion methods in developing moral values.
- Exploiting cultural trips to develop moral values.
- The use of camps in the development of moral values.
- Holding periodic meetings for students on ethical values.
4- The results of the study showed that the most important obstacles that prevent the development of moral values for high school students are the following:
- Weakness of the religious scruples of the student.
- The family is not convinced of the school’s role in developing values.
- The lack of training courses for the specialist concerned with teaching and developing moral values.
- The weakness of employing modern educational means in developing the moral values of students.
- Parents’ lack of adherence to moral values.
- The specialist was not informed of the new means and methods in developing values.
- Low educational level of the parents.
5-The results of the study showed that the most important proposals that help in developing the moral values of high school students, which were represented in the following :
- Attention to the development of values in addition to academic achievement.
-Intensifying training courses that raise the efficiency of the social worker.
- Allocating programs aimed at developing the moral values of student.
- Encouraging students to have values by motivating them with prizes and moral incentives.
- Training the specialist on the skills of using modern educational means in developing students’ moral values.
- Continuous follow-up with students during school activities.
-The study found a suggested conception in the way of working with groups to develop moral values for high school students. This proposed scenario includes the following elements :
The foundations that were relied upon in building the proposed program.
- The objectives that the proposed program seeks to achieve.
- Considerations to be taken into account in the proposed program.
- The institutional format through which the proposed program is carried out.
- Responsible for implementing the proposed program.
- Beneficiaries of the proposed program implementation.

- Techniques on which the proposed program is based.
- The professional roles that the social worker must play in order to achieve the goal of the proposed program.
- Success factors of the proposed program.
- Indicators of the success of the proposed program.
