Abstract Nile Delta has a relatively complex geological history with repeated episodes of tectonic uplift and subsidence because it occupies a key position within the plate tectonic development of the eastern Mediterranean and the Levant, it lies on the moderately deformed northern external margin of the African plate (the unstable shelf). The area of study (Port Fouad Marine Field) is located in the eastern offshore area of the Nile delta between longitudes 31° 84’ and 32° 44’ E and between latitudes 31° 52’ and 31° 30’ N. It lies in petrobel’s offshore north Port Said block. This area covers offshore concession to the north of port Fouad city with 13.85 Km width, 10.40 KM in length and total area 144 Km². This study concerns with illustrating the tectonic and structural setting of this area. Evaluating the petrophysical parameters of the main reservoir (Tortonian Wakar Formation), in addition to the modeling of source rock maturity and hydrocarbon generation and expulsion. This study has been prepared through the integrated interpretation of the available seismic, petrophysical, geological, and geochemical data. |
